"Winter Solitude"
by Fred Buchwitz
| 12 Somewhere hidden at the foot of the towering Three
Sisters near Canmore, Alberta lies a small cabin draped in a blanket of pure white snow in which a family takes refuge from the cold. Just across the small stream are two deer weaving their way through trees and shadows, finally pausing at the sight of the cabin's light castings its golden glow on the snow outside. While the sun sinks behind the mountains, the lights will dim as the family prepares for night in this winter solitude. |
