"Twilight Embers"
by Fred Buchwitz
| The sun has finally melted behind the mountains, leaving only traces of violet in the evening sky. The full moon shines brightly in its place, illuminating the snow-covered mountains with a gentle white light. The mountains, in turn, light up their surroundings by mirroring their majesty into a nearby lake. A deer, wandering through the growing shadows, notices its reflection in the silver waters and pauses a while to admire. The crackling song of a fire and the quiet murmur of voices in a cabin close by momentarily arrests the deer's attention and fixes its gaze upon the fire's light dancing and flickering on the surface of the towering twilight embers. |
