Fred
Buchwitz
Fred came to Canada in 1949 from his
birthplace, Germany, at the young age of four. His family settled in the pristine Fraser
Valley in Southern British Columbia.
At the age of fourteen, Fred began to experiment with various
painting mediums. At first, he worked with poster paint but this proved to be inadequate
and restrictive. He eventually concluded that oil paints would best suit his needs. Being
self-taught, he managed to develop his own unique style of painting that sets him apart
from other artists. Fred grew up surrounded by abundant natural beauty which provided
bountiful ideas for his work, ranging from the crashing waves of the West Coast to the
exhilarating mountain vistas of the Rockies.
In 1972, he decided to make painting his full-time profession.
Since then, Fred has traveled extensively throughout Western Canada with his work. Gaining
in popularity, many of his images are now being sold as limited edition prints and art
cards. Because Fred is self-published, the edition sizes are kept low, which proves to be
an attractive selling feature. Recently, he caught the attention of the Bradford Exchange,
which commissioned him to provide images for a collector's plate series that has been
titled, "The Cabins of Comfort River" and is being sold worldwide.
Fred currently resides in Delta, B.C. with his family, painting
and publishing new images for art collectors to enjoy |

Jeff Buchwitz
Jeff was born in Vancouver,
British Columbia, in 1971. He took interest in drawing at a young age, and began
with black and white sketches. It was at this early stage in life that Jeff started
to develop a talent for drawing wildlife and landscapes with precise realism.
Eventually, he found that watercolour and acrylic paints were the most suitable mediums
for his work.
After two years of training at Kwantlen College, and working as a
commercial artist, Jeff began painting full time. Currently he works both on
computer graphics and painting. With his natural surroundings for inspiration, his
artwork is continuing to rise in popularity. He has successfully experimented with
watercolour in seascapes of British Columbia's west coast, and with acrylics in his
wildlife and Rocky Mountains scenes.
He continues to produce beautiful originals, and is planning to
print more limited editions in the near future. This up and coming young artist's
work is sure to please even the most discerning of collectors. Originals of his work can
be found at Art Image galleries in Surrey, BC and Avenida galleries throughout Alberta. |

Jason Buchwitz
Growing up in
beautiful British Columbia, Jason has been very much influenced by his natural
surroundings, giving inspiration to several of his paintings. His interests in a wide
range of subject matter are clearly shown in his work; from the intensity of a formula 1
car race to the calm, majestic serenity of a lone timber wolf set in a winter wilderness.
Holding a degree in animal biology, Jason has studied many
species in terms of their anatomy and behavior, giving him a better understanding of the
wildlife he paints. His goal has always been to create a strong sense of mood or emotion
with his subjects, bringing life to each one of his paintings. Jason's painting style is
characterized by the way he uses light and detail to add high contrast, vivid color, and
realism to his art. He is currently working as both a traditional artist
as well as a 3d computer animator and digital media creator. His paintings are sold privately and
are also displayed at the Avenida galleries in Alberta. |
